Total electrolyte balance for laying hens

چکیده

ABSTRACT: This study was done to determine the best value of total electrolyte balance (BET) concerning variables performance and egg quality laying hens. We investigated 240 Hy-Line Brown hens, 30 46 weeks age, adopting completely randomized experimental design, which included five treatments (1000, 1250, 1500, 1750 2000 μeq / kg), 8 repetitions 6 birds per unit. The birds’ eggs were evaluated in different treatments. results subjected analysis variance and, wherever significant effect noted, regression equations estimated, taking into account (μeq kg) as a concomitant variable, applying SAS statistical program (2001). consumption, production, feed conversion by dozen eggs, final bird weight, density, yolk color, Haugh Unit, albumen shell found be unaffected BET values. values mass, weight uniformity affected BETs. showing minimum conversion, higher better were, respectively, = 1400, 1330, 1250 kg loads at temperatures. From equations, indicated BET=1390 for 30- 46-week-old diet affect hens terms quality.

Effect of the Dietary Electrolyte Balance on the Productive Performance of Laying Hens and on the Quality of the Eggs

A trial was conducted to study the effect of two dietary electrolyte balances (dEB, dEB=Na+K-Cl, meq/100g) on the productive performance, quality of eggs and physiological status of Hy-Line Brown laying hens. 128 hens were allocated in cages (4 hens/cage) and divided into two experimental groups (16 repetitions/group). The diets were isoproteic and isocaloric with different electrolyte balance ...

Amino Acid Recommendations for laying hens

During recent decades productivity of laying hens increased substantially (Elliot, 2008). Not only egg number, egg mass, and feed conversion has increased but also persistency of lay has improved. As such, this must have implications on the optimal amino acid nutrition of current laying hen strains. Simply stated, increasing egg mass output per hen means an increased amino acid output which has...

Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae in Laying Hens

The bacterium Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae can infect a wide range of mammals (including humans) and birds. Disease outbreaks (erysipelas) have been considered unusual in chickens internationally, but outbreaks with high mortality and egg production losses have been diagnosed in Swedish laying hen flocks every year since 1998. Different aspects of E. rhusiopathiae infection in chickens were exa...

Comparative gonadotrophic potency of anterior pituitaries from cocks, laying hens and non-laying hens in molt.

A bulk of studies on the assay of gonadotrophic hormone content of the anterior pituitary from the animals in various reproductive conditions has been done. Riley and Fraps(1942b) assayed pituitary glands from chickens in various reproductive stages, judging the gonadotrophic potency by the increment of uterine weights of immature mice, and concluded that glands from non-laying hens produced a ...

Nutrient digestibility and mass balance in laying hens fed a commercial or acidifying diet.

The objectives of the current study were to evaluate the effect of an acidifying diet (gypsum) combined with zeolite and slightly reduced crude protein (R) vs. a control diet (C) on nutrient retention in laying hens and compare 3 approaches to estimating nutrient excretion from hens: 1) mass balance calculation (feed nutrients - egg nutrient), 2) use of an indigestible marker with analyzed feed...
